Our company has been looking for a video conferencing software that we can use to hold meetings between our mine site locations.  We have tried some internet based video chat software but these proves to be unworkable due to the inconsistency of the connection and quality as they rely on services available to the general public via the internet.

Our mine site locations are connected together privately using microwave links to a central location.  We needed a LAN based video conferencing server that utilizes LAN connections only and not having to go out to the internet.

After searching the internet, I found Video-Port.com website and the product descriptions suits exactly what I was looking for.  I downloaded a trial version and installed it on one of our servers, installed the client software on PCs and ran a test.  During the initial usage, the sound quality is noticeably superb.  There’s no delay or crackle like the other ones.  The video windows are resizable and of excellent quality.  It doesn’t freeze or jitter.  It is noticeably a lot better than using internet based video software.

It is also very easy to setup and configure.

We have already informed our parent company of VideoPort and they are now looking to install the same in their location.
